East Bay Times: East Bay veterans clinic, cemetery recommended for more funds, May 23, 2019

Excerpt:

A congressional committee has approved an additional $26 million to build a clinic for veterans and a national cemetery at the former Alameda Naval Air Station.

The announcement of the allocation follows Mayor Marilyn Ezzy Ashcraft visiting Washington, D.C., where she met with the House Appropriations Committee’s staff and representatives of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as with Congresswoman Barbara Lee, D-Oakland.

The money is in addition to $87 million already appropriated for the project’s design, engineering and environmental work.
