East Bay Times: Canopy design proposed for ferry terminal, September 21, 2016

Excerpt:

The pier and gangway at the anticipated ferry terminal at Alameda Point will likely feature a canopy to help shelter riders from rain as they board and exit boats, as well as a glass wall for added protection for when the wind becomes gusty off San Francisco Bay.

A preliminary design for the canopy at the future terminal, which will be located at what’s known as the Seaplane Lagoon, will come before the Planning Board on Monday, and city officials are recommending it be colored blue to reflect the area’s history as a former U.S. Navy base.

The board will consider the preliminary design as part of a package of other design proposals for what city officials call Site A, the 68 acres that Alameda Point Partners is redeveloping with a mix of homes and commercial space.
