East Bay Times: Alameda Point park design up for review, October 19, 2016

A new neighborhood park at Alameda Point will feature a children’s playground, tables for board games, fitness areas and a basketball half-court under a design that the Planning Board will review Monday.

The 1.35-acre park is one of three parks that will be built in what city officials call Site A, the 68 acres at the former Alameda Naval Air Station that will be redeveloped with a mix of housing and commercial space.

Alameda Point Partners is behind the $500 million project, which stretches from Main Street to the Seaplane Lagoon and the buildings that make up the former Navy base’s historic district.
