The first shooting was reported at 2:21 p.m. on Orion Street. Alameda Police Department (APD) was flooded with several calls about a large group of men and women gathered in front of a home on the 2700 block of Orion engaging in some sort of dispute, according to APD public information officer Lt. Ted Horlbeck.

"There seemed to be some kind of large group of people having some kind of get-together," said Horlbeck. "There was an argument and someone who was not even among the group came over to intervene and stop the argument got shot at."

Horlbeck said the man was not psychically harmed in the incident. The shooter fled the scene before officers arrived.

Horlbeck said none of the residents are cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
