Alameda Sun: City Kicks Off 'Going Forward' at the Point, November 4, 2010
Excerpt:
The city of Alameda has announced a "going-forward" process for redevelopment of Alameda Point. Andrew Thomas, the city's planning services manager, said that the city will start with three "lessons learned" community forums.
Thomas stated that the forums would focus on learning from past planning efforts and developing a vision concept for Alameda Point.
"The new vision concept will serve as the basis for a land use plan and conveyance agreement with the U.S. Navy for Alameda Point, which the city anticipates completing by June 2011," he stated.
Each of the forums will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.; the first on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at the Grandview Pavilion, 300 Island Drive; the second on Thursday, Nov. 18, at the Mastick Senior Center; 1155 Santa Clara Ave, and the third on Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the O Club, 641 West Red Line Ave.
