The Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL) announced on Monday that Alameda Point is one of six sites it is considering for a new facility.

The lab received more than 20 responses to its Jan. 3 request to submit proposals for its "second campus." Other sites on what the LBNL calls its "shortlist" are Oakland's Brooklyn Basin; Berkeley's Aquatic Park West; Albany's Golden Gate Fields; a site in Emeryville that already houses LBNL offices; and the University of California's Richmond Field Station.
