Alameda Journal: Spring brings out Alameda Point's Vintage Fashion Faire, May 4, 2012

Excerpt:

Over the past several years the popularity of collecting vintage clothes, jewelry and accessories has grown, increasing to an even greater degree as celebrities turn to vintage for red-carpet appearances. This popularity has resulted in a surge in the number of serious, specialized collectors and organized events that showcase vintage wear.

One of the foremost of these events, the Alameda Point Vintage Fashion Fair, will be held May 18-19 in the three ballrooms of Alameda's historic O Club. Produced by Sandra Michaan, the two-day vintage-celebration is much anticipated, attracting shoppers and vendors from throughout California and beyond.

More than 50 vendors, hailing from the Bay Area, Sacramento, Chico, Los Angeles, Arizona and Oregon, will showcase fashions from every decade, from the Victorian and Deco eras, through the fabulous '40s and '50s and into the classic '60s, '70s and '80s.
