Alameda Journal: Alameda Point's field of possible developers narrowed, August 27, 2014

The City Council will consider approving two potential developers to build a portion of the future "Waterfront Town Center" at Alameda Point when it meets Tuesday, a key step that will set the stage for city officials to begin negotiations toward recommending the final candidate.

Brookfield Residential, the sixth largest land developer and homebuilder in North America, and Alameda Point Partners, a partnership of six developers created specifically for Alameda Point, are the finalists for an exclusive negotiating agreement.

They were among nine developers that submitted proposals that met the city's criteria for transforming 68 acres as part of the future town center, where a new ferry terminal, waterfront promenades and paths for walking and cycling are planned.
