Former NAS Alameda: On September 28, 2009, the Department of the Navy (DON) signed the Finding of Suitability to Transfer (FOST) for approximately 8 acres of land known as Estuary Park located within the North Housing Parcel. The U.S. EPA Region 9, California Department of Toxic Substances Control, and San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board concurred with this FOST. Once the Department of Housing and Urban Development has approved the reuse plan amendment which was submitted by the Alameda Reuse and Redevelopment Authority, the DON will be able to identify future transfer date for this parcel.
