East Bay will have to wait a little longer to see which city lands the prized second campus of Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory.

The winning city will not be announced until early 2012, instead of late November as originally planned, lab officials announced today.

"We need a bit more time to fully evaluate our options and to confer with stakeholders ...We have a number of excellent options before us," said Berkeley Lab Director Paul Alivisatos.
