My vision for Alameda Point—and it will take more than 4 years to accomplish, but you have to start somewhere - is a fiscally and environmentally sustainable, transit-oriented, pedestrian and bicycle-friendly mixed-use development that includes a variety of housing types, with highest density residential located within 1/4 mile of the ferry terminal and transit hub, residential-serving retail, job-creating developments such as the VA clinic and offices and other office/commercial/light industry/clean manufacturing uses, and lots of recreation areas and open space.
