Candidate Jensen's answer to the Democratic Club Questionnaire

Some parts of Alameda Point will start to look like the northern waterfront area of Alameda. Infrastructure projects including some new streets – similar to the Willie Stargell extension – will have been completed.

Other places at Alameda Point will look like the bay access between Broadway and Park Street.
Alameda Point will be the site of the Alameda National Wildlife Refuge, and there will be protected wetlands in some areas.

Alameda Point will also be looking like a future thriving Island neighborhood because the City Council will have hired a City Manager to represent them in negotiations and planning. Some of the new documents and legal developments could include ~
• A conveyance agreement between the City and the Department of the Navy that allows the City to develop the Point gradually. The agreement would not have any up-front cost and would include an enforceable schedule of environmental mitigation.
• A plan for development that builds upon the existing infrastructure and begins with projects that make use of the land use and water use opportunities.
• A City-Council sponsored ballot measure adjusting Measure A for future residential development at Alameda Point. Any changes to Measure A would be balanced by alternative density limitations.
