Press Release: Alameda Point Not Selected for Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, January 23, 2012
Excerpt:
Earlier this morning Mayor Marie Gilmore received a phone call from Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL) informing her that Alameda was not selected as the site for its new lab. The LBNL ultimately decided to use property it already owns in the City of Richmond at the Richmond Field Station.
”While we would have loved to have welcomed LBNL to our community, we still have 50 acres of prime waterfront real estate at Alameda Point ready for another major user to call home -- Alameda Point will become the economic engine for the City once again,” stated Mayor Marie Gilmore.
