Memo from Assistant Community Development Director to Planning Board Regarding Ad Hoc Planning Board Subcommittee to direct the next steps on the planning and design effort for the Site A development at Alameda Point, July 27, 2015

A Request to Establish an Ad Hoc Planning Board Subcommittee to direct the next steps on the planning and design effort for the Site A development at Alameda Point

BACKGROUND

On June 16, 2015, the City Council unanimously approved the Site A Development Plan, Development Agreement and Disposition and Development Agreement.

Pursuant to those entitlements, Alameda Point Partners must submit architectural design drawings and open space design drawings to the Planning Board for review and approval before construction can begin on any single building or park space.

At this time, staff is requesting that the Planning Board establish an ad-hoc subcommittee to work with staff and the applicant to prepare the necessary drawings for Design Review consideration by the Planning Board and public. Staff anticipates that the subcommittee will be necessary for approximately six to nine months to assist staff with the initial design review applications for Phase 1 of the Site A Development Plan building and park designs.

RECOMMENDATION

Establish an Ad Hoc Subcommittee for the Site A Design Review plans.

Respectfully submitted,

Andrew Thomas

Assistant Community Development Director
