Alameda Point Final EIR, December 2013

Excerpt:

The Final EIR provides an evaluation of the potential environmental impacts that may be expected as the result of the redevelopment and reuse of Alameda Point, consistent with the City’s General Plan and Reuse Plan. The Final EIR is an informational document; it does not approve or deny the project, it provides important information that must be considered. It informs the community, the Planning Board, and the City Council before any final decisions or any final actions are made on the Alameda Point project.

The Final EIR consists of the Draft EIR and the Response to Comments on the Draft EIR document (both of which can be found below). The Draft EIR was released on September 3, 2013 and a 48-day comment period started on September 4, 2013 and ended on October 21, 2013. Additionally, there were two (2) public hearings held at City Hall where Alamedans provided live comments on Monday, September 9, 2013 and September 25, 2013. At the close of the comment period, the City compiled all the comments, revised the analysis, responded to the comments received, and then prepared the Final EIR.

The Final EIR is comprised of two large documents. While it is available, in chapters, on the City’s website, some people may find it too cumbersome to read online. Hence, the City is providing hard copies for public review at the following locations
