San Francisco Chronicle: Alameda Naval Air Station development finally set to take off, June 30, 2015

Excerpt:

The plan approved by the Alameda City Council on June 16 calls for the first phase of construction: 800 units of housing and 60,000 square feet of commercial space.

In December, the council chose local developer srmErnst to work on the first 68 acres of the plan.

That firm’s team includes retail developers Madison Marquette, residential developer Thompson Dorfman Partners and Eden Housing, a nonprofit firm. Construction is expected to begin in 2016.
