Contra Costa Times: Council puts off plan to attract commercial developers, October 7, 2015

Excerpt:

The City Council has put off considering a proposal aimed at attracting businesses to an area of Alameda Point that would be set aside for large commercial projects considered major sales tax generators.

The strategy, which would sidestep developers and target "end users," was set to go before the council on Tuesday. The council is now expected to consider it on Oct. 20.

Once known as Site B and now called the Enterprise District, the area where city officials hope to attract developers is between Main Street and Central Avenue and borders what is known as the Seaplane Lagoon. Pacific Avenue cuts through the area, which was part of the former Alameda Naval Air Station.
