Alameda Sun: Derelict Apartments Demolished at Alameda Point, April 21, 2011

Urban Metro Environmental is busy demolishing boarded-up and abandoned apartment buildings on Norfolk Road near Stardust Place at Alameda Point.

On March 2, the city council awarded the company $279,000 to demolish these buildings as well as other abandoned buildings on nearby Barbers Point and Glenview roads.

The city has tapped this neighborhood of four- and six-plexes, along with approximately 20 other similar buildings, for demolition in its preliminary development concept for Alameda Point.
