Alameda Sun: AFD Douses Point Structure Fire, July 16, 2015

Excerpt:

The Alameda Fire Department (AFD) were called to Alameda Point last Sunday, July 12, after a report of smoke coming from the window of the former bachelor’s enlisted quarters at 1000 W. Midway Avenue.

AFD responded with a first-alarm assignment of three engines, two ladder trucks, one medic unit (ambulance) and the duty chief. Arriving firefighters discovered dark smoke coming from windows on the second floor of the large, two-story building, according to an AFD report. Due to the size of the building and smoke conditions, additional crews were requested, bringing all on-duty firefighters to the scene.
