Alameda Point Veterans Memorial Park, July 14, 2015

Excerpt:

In the District’s discussions with local VA representatives, there is a unique opportunity to do something special for our East Bay veteran community at this site. The District has proposed the development of a 150-acre regional park adjacent to the VA’s complex that could provide a serene place for veterans and their families to reflect and rehabilitate. As part of a new memorial park on this site, the District is exploring the potential to develop a memorial plaza that would be a tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for this country.
