America's Cup

Artemis Racing yacht at Seaplane Lagoon

The America's Cup is an international yachting race held every three to four years. It was held on San Francisco Bay July 4 through September 21, 2013. Two teams (Luna Rossa of Italy and Artemis Racing of Sweden) made Alameda Point their official launching point for the Cup races.

Here is a video of the City of Alameda's Americas Cup Ad Hoc Committee presenting their final report.

The Artemis Racing Team continues to operate out of their hangar at Alameda Point, working on the yacht for the next Americas Cup. The location of the next Americas Cup is expected to be announced in late 2014.
